Just finished the last piece for now, a glorious necklace made from the best ruby Sternocera elytra wings I could find. Bright red Sternocera beetles occur as a genetic mutation, only happening every thousand or so insects born. They are cruelty-free, retrieved from expired adults who are farm bred and in accordance with CITES legislation. There are similar elytra necklaces on Etsy, made of common green wings, and on gold/silver costume chains for a whopping £75.
